God is no longer mad at you

God is not mad at you for sinning; because He loves you, He does not want you to suffer the consequences that are a by-product of sin. God always forgives when asked. God is greater then your concept of forgiveness.

God is a good God!

God is a good God!
The Scriptures say, “...He that hath seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). God is like Jesus merciful, kind, and loving full of grace. If we earnestly seek Him, believe in Him then God will do His part and reward us with His “God-plan” which is beyond our imagination. ~~ Oral Roberts

Weak need the strong

Every Christian community must know that not only do the weak need the strong, but also that the strong cannot exist without the weak. The elimination of the weak is the death of the community. ~~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Life Together

Apprehended by God

“If that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended” (Philippians 3:12).
Never choose to be a worker; but when once God has put His call on you, woe be to you if you turn to the right hand or to the left. We are not here to work for God because we have chosen to do so, but because God has apprehended us. There is never any thought of – “Oh, well, I am not fitted for this.” What you are to preach is determined by God, not by your own natural inclinations. Keep your soul steadfastly related to God, and remember that you are called not to bear testimony only, but to preach the gospel. Every Christian must testify, but when it come so the call to preach, there must be the agonizing grip of God’s hand on you, your life is in the grip of God for that one thing. How many of us are held like that?
Never water down the word of God, preach it in its undiluted sternness; there must be unflinching loyalty to the word of God; but when you come to personal dealing with your fellow men, remember who you are – not a special being made up in heaven, but a sinner saved by grace.
“I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do ...” ~~ Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest

Its absence felt weird

My self-abuse, despair, hurts, failures, disappointments and guilt through these many years has been my identity – normality. When I began to forgive, forgive God and myself I gradually lost my selfishness and independence. Its absence felt unnerving and uncomfortable. I had to learn about the new me, which in itself is scary.

From the bottom of a dark pit

From the dust of which we were created, a broken heart expresses the patience of faith that gives God a chance to show Himself faithful. ~~ Martin De Haan of the Radio Bible Class

Which set of standards?

There is someone who begrudges us this life and happiness (walking with God) – the evil one. He is the deceiver. Using subtle argument is the same as in the Garden of Eden. Did God really say, for instance, that I should avoid suing other? That my anger will bring the wrath of God down upon me? That He hates divorce? (Malachi 2:16) That the Bible recognizes only one kind of marriage as valid and every kind of sexual relationship before or outside of marriage as sinful?
When the voice of temptation whispers insinuations into our ears, we need to listen for the voice of God, which comes to us with unmistakable clarity in the commands in His Word. Instead of allowing the voice of the enemy into your hearts, let us for love of God accept the challenge of His commands When we are moved by love to do what God says, we become united with the will of God and so with God Himself – the deepest of unions (John 14:23). ~~ Mutter Basilea Schlink (1904-2001)

It's Worth Pondering

Living the dream

Isaiah 6:8 reads as following, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ‘Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.”
God send me I am committee to being a person who will be known as one who is striving and getting to know God. One who walks and talks with God therefore being a voice that helps build kingdom. This voice gets involved with His people and seeks ways to the “practicable application” of scripture in a way that is pleasing to the Holy Spirit helpful to man. I am not going to wait until I feel like helping but today I promise that I will walk in love and every day as an encourager and not a deterrent. I will live this dream.

A little word

You only need a naked intent for God. When you long for him, that's enough. If you want to gather this focus into one word, making it easier to grasp, select a little word of one syllable, not two. The shorter the word, the more it helps the work of the spirit. God or love works well. Fasten it to your heart. Fix your mind on it permanently, so nothing can dislodge it. ~~ A saying of the Desert Fathers

Waking the Dead

We are at war. The world in which we live is a combat zone, a violent clash of kingdoms, a bitter struggle unto the death. You were born into a world at war, and you will live out all your days in the midst of the great battle, involving all the forces of heaven and hell and played out here on earth. ~~ John Eldredge, from his book Waking the Dead.

Lifestyle of repentance and joy

Jesus says, “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me” (John 14:21, NIV).
There was a time when I tended to overlook commands of Jesus such as lose your life, deny yourself love your enemies... During those years, I was not happy. I sensed something of spiritual death in my life. What a transformation when I started facing up to the challenge in His commands.
Every failure to live up to them drove me into the arms of Jesus in repentance. New life flowed into me, the joy of the Lord was restored, and He could use me in His service. I realized that our happiness in this life and the next depends on our attitude towards His commands and whether trusting in the grace of Jesus, we make every effort to keep them. Seeing that our life and happiness depend on our attitude towards the laws of God, we should continually remind ourselves of these standards and inscribe them in our hearts. ~~ Mutter Basilea Schlink (1904-2001)

An intimate relationship

In this hour, God is releasing a greater revelation as to obtain an intimate relationship with Him. From Genesis to Revelation, God has been seeking a people who would love him above everything else. He has always desired intimacy with His people.
In Ephesians 5:31-32, Paul compares the union of a man and a woman to Christ and the Church. It is a mystery how God and man can become one but this is the inheritance available to every believer who will lay down there lives for this great King. The Lord is longing for a people who perfectly reflect His character and nature on the earth as His ambassadors. ~~ Andre Asbly, Souls Cry Ministries

Cure

I am not who you think I am, Mackenzie. I don’t need to punish people for sin. Sin is its own punishment, devouring you from the inside. It’s not my purpose to punish it; it’s my joy to cure it. ~~ Papa, The Shack

Change

If you want to be changed, read a good book. Or so said A. W. Tozer: "The things you read will fashion you by slowly conditioning your mind.” What you look at through your eye gates and hear by your ear gates determine who you are and who you will be. Change is impossible with out the Holy Spirit being involved. Also, change is not possible until that person is broken beyond repair. When healing comes, it many times comes through Godly authors and practitioners.

Remember

May we always remember that Christ commands us to concentrate on reaching lost men and women, not on Christianizing society or taking over the world. We have an obligation to make an impact upon this culture realizing all the time we are sojourners and this is not our home.
