Committed quality

In selecting men for office, let principle be your guide.  Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate – look to his character.  The scriptures teach that rulers should be men who rule in the fear of God, able men, men of truth, hating covetousness.  It is to the neglect of this rule that we must ascribe the multiplied frauds, braches of trust, and embezzlements of public property which tarnish the character of our country and disgrace government.  When a citizen gives his note to a man of known immorality, he abuses his civic responsibility; he sacrifices not only his interest, but that of his neighbor; he betrays the interest of his country. ~~ Noah Webster, 1823

With all the negative publicity that money can buy, may the best man win.

I couldn't agree more with this post! How often do we look at labels and pre-judge... rather than looking at a person's character... their story... who they are.

Aye, that we could live in such a manner today. God forges and fashions a man to be one of character and integrity. He realizes his shortcomings, which provides a man with a genuine humility, and he swears, even to his own hurt, as the scriptures state. His word is his bond. All this is possible; in fact, normal for the real man with a heart after God. Looking up, we have no need to look down, on anyone. Oh that the world could know the life that is hid with Christ. "Taste and see that the Lord is good," Nothing else can really even compare. And the benefits are out of this world.
